Tools for this exist in ViewMate Pro and CAMMaster only.
Here is an appnote that describes how to do it:

Nice job on the pdf showing how to convert a drill drawing to NC file.

I am evealuating the ViewMate Pro software for converting autocad RF layouts to gerbers for board fab.
I have used cam350 software in the past for doing the conversion but the software is expensive for just converting autocad to gerber formats.

Looking for help tyring to convert autocad RF shapes to gerber.
I have bpolyed all the shapes in autocad and exported them to a dxf.
I then imported the dxf into ViewMate Pro to solid polygon filling.
I have been looking at the Cam user's guide for Polygon filling but I don't think iI have all the settings correct.
When I do get the software to fill it fills my shape but also fill the entire screen around it.

I have attached a sample file with a portion of the shape expamples I am tyring to solid fill.
If possible could you fill the shapes and save it to a ViewMate format so i could look a the settings?
You did such a good job with the drill drawing to NC file pdf and one for solid polygon fill would be great for us new users.

Thanks,
Billy

We will show you the steps to follow below.
If your intended result was something else, please email us at support@pentalogix.com with more details.

After importing the .dxf file, select all the data (Select/Select All).

The perform the following command:

That polygon fill was pretty easy with your help, Thanks.
2 more quick questions.

1. I there a way to keep a copy of the original polygons on a separate layer?
Would like to have the polygon outlines shown in a different color then the fill to make sure i don't have any overlapping lines or shapes the didn't fill correctly.

2. I there a way to use an alternate font for text that isn't listed when using the standard with the Insert, Text option? (Typically use True Type Arial)

1) Yes, you can make a copy of the data on any layer to another, empty layer.
The easiest way to do that is to right click on the layer you want to copy (in the layers toolbar) and pick (Edit/Replicate).
There are many other ways to copy data, but this is a quick one.

2) No. Unfortunately we only support a limited number of built in vector fonts.
