Viewmate Pro Fill command outline function

Postby WayneT » Mon Sep 15, 2014 5:40 pm

I've tried a bunch of different techniques, but my fill of F-type perimeters seems incapable of doing outlining correctly. It seems to do vertical edges OK, but horizontal is out, and angles are "iffy".

The recommended method to fill polygons is to convert F-type outlines to polygons:
"Edit/Edit Selection/Polygons/F To Polygon"
then fill the polygons with traces (if you need a traces fill):
"Edit/Edit Selection/Polygons/Replace With Fill".

Unfortunately, Polygons don't pour around existing features like the other fill command. I guess hoping you'll fix the problem is a long shot. Too bad. It was very useful for a bunch of different stuff--even used it to assist with creating offset tool paths for a board router. Thanks, anyway.

Very good points.
However, you may be able to work around this.
You can copy your data to an new work layer and convert all elements to polygons.
You can then draw polygons around these and make polygons with holes (where the holes are the original elements).
At this stage you can inflate or deflate the polygons and then fill them.

As for offsetting routing paths, CAMMaster (but not ViewMatePro) has a module to deal with routing paths that can easily do this.
You can read a short description from here:
