If one gets the following error when trying to install the Sentinel Protection Installer:
the error can be caused by a conflict on port 6001.
Sentinel System Driver utilizes port 6001, we have seen reports where other application like National Instrument Software’s “Lab View” product uses the same port 6001 and such port conflict would cause Sentinel Protection Installer’s installation to fail.
Check whether port 6001 is being used by another application (you can use the DOS command of: netstat –a ). If yes, stop that application and the Sentinel Protection Installer installation should complete successfully.
