WARNING AFTER INSTALLING ON WINDOW 7

Postby hyoo » Fri Mar 23, 2012 11:46 am

Hi, I just got new window 7 laptop from work and installed viewmate. When I launch it, I get warning saying
cannot write to registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PentaLogix.Quotefile.
Rerun the program once as administrator or use "Run as administrator" in Vista or 7.

What does this mean?

Thanks

ViewMate tries to register as the program to open quote files (with extension .ezq).
In Windows 7 (as well as Vista), you need administrator privileges to do this.
Log in as an administrator then right click on ViewMate.exe and pick "Run as administrator".
This needs to be done only once.

Quote files are in a proprietary PentaLogix format and can be saved after (or during) Smart DFM.
You can then send PentaLogix the quote file to get your board fabricated.
